Lost & Found
For Our Shelter
Contact your local shelter, and ask them to complete a "Lost" or "Found" Report. Many times, owners will reach out to the shelter with information and reports can be reviewed for a possible match.
Please, if possible, submit photos of the pet. These help us out immensely with identifying pets. You can send it to this email:
cvasoffice@cvas-pets.org
In the subject line, please put the name of the pet lost, or if the animal was found, simply put "found pet".
Any additional information not provided on the forms, you can also put in the message. We appreciate any extra detail on pets to help us find their people faster!

Other Resources to Contact:
Facebook Groups
Both of these groups work the same way:
Directly message the group on Facebook with all the information you have of the pet - including pictures is highly reccommended. Then they will make the post for you. Even if you intend to bring the pet to the shelter, posting to these groups is still beneficial.
General community pages (i.e. What's Going on in Chambersburg, etc..) are also a good place to post. Social media is the best place to go, as word travels fast, especially when it comes to animals in need!
Vet Clinics
If you have lost your pet, just letting the vet know their general information will help them recognize it if the pet is brought in later. People tend to bring animals in to the vet to be scanned for a microchip. Or in worst case scenario - try to pass the animal off as their own or intend to keep them if they are not chipped.
If you found a pet, as stated above, you can get them microchipped scanned at a vet clinic or an animal shelter.
Other Shelters
Contacting other shelters is always a good option as well; even if the shelter seems to far for the pet to travel, it's good to let them know anyway. Shelters in PA take animals from the townships they service, so depending on where your pet is found depends on what shelter takes them on as a "stray".
