Help Save a Life
As a foster parent with CVAS, you will be providing much needed temporary housing and care for cats in need!
The Rewarding Life of a Foster
CVAS is always in need of foster families! Fostering is an amazing experience, directly saving the lives of one or many animals in need of extra care and attention that could not be provided in the busy shelter.
Kitten Season happens every year during the spring, and still every year we are over-run and understaffed for the amount of cats and kittens coming in.
As a foster, you would be providing a sanctuary for these animals to thrive.
CVAS provides all that is needed for fostering; supplies, education, and the support - both mentally and physically. Fostering, though fulfilling, can be a hard job to take on. It can be an emotional roller coaster at times, but in the end can be very rewarding knowing that you helped an animal in need move on to its loving forever home.
We are here for it all, and want to help you in anyway so that we can reduce your concerns and worries. The goal for every fostered feline is for them to get the care that they need to be ready to find their perfect forever home!

First Time Fosters
If you have never fostered an animal before, we will go over demonstrations for everything. How to care for and feed newborns, what all to be prepared for and to expect.
What our Fosters Must Provide
All of our foster homes must be able to provide a private space for these animals. All of their animals must be up to date on vaccines - not only for their safety, but the safety of the cats staying in the home. Fosters must be prepared to transport the foster animals to the shelter for inital and booster vaccinations.
Information About the CVAS Foster Program
To become a foster with us, simply submit our CVAS Foster Application. All animals in the home must be up to date on vaccines - to protect your pets and the cats you are bringing into the home. There are no costs to becoming a foster with us, as we do provide all necessary supplies and support for you and the kitties during their time with you in your home.
