Approved applicants will need to schedule an appointment with our Adoption Counselor to reserve a spot to see animals.
What’s included with adoption:- Pets have already begun their vaccination series- A certificate for a free initial vet exam at participating clinics- All adopters are required to take their new pet to a veterinarian for this first visit, which is why the certificate is provided

Petfinder
PetFinder - the site many shelters and rescues use to display their adoptable pets - has recently updated in a strange way. Please ensure you have Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter set as your filter when browsing our animals. We apologize for this inconvenience☹
The Process!
Application
Our adoption application may be submitted online or as a paper copy here at the shelter. Once submitted for our review, the time to process your application takes between two to five business days.
Process
Once approved, your application remains on file for six months and is eligible for any animal up for adoption - even if you submit one for a cat and end up falling in love with a bunny, you would not need to resubmit!
Animal Visitation
You must have an approved application and an appointment scheduled if you would like to take animals out to the bonding room. We have limited bonding room space and we reserve this for pre-made adoption appointments.
