In Case You Missed It ...
Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter Honored as ’Nonprofit of the Year’ by the Cumberland Valley Business Alliance
(Chambersburg, PA) – Held in partnership with the Chambersburg and Greencastle-AntrimChambers of Commerce, the Cumberland Valley Business Alliance annual awards breakfastwas hosted Wednesday March 25 at Antrim Brethren In Christ Church in Marion, PA.
The event, with more than 200 attendees present, serves as the premier opportunity to honorbusinesses and individuals driving growth and excellence throughout the Cumberland Valley,and included the presentation of CVBA’s 2026 award to Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter asits ‘Nonprofit of the Year.’
The Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter received recognition for its compassionate care andinnovative programs that address animal welfare needs. With initiatives like the Second ChanceFund and educational outreach, the shelter plays a vital role in the community.
“On behalf of our leadership team and board of directors, our dedicated employees and ouramazing volunteers, we're delighted to receive this honor,” said Todd Willman, director ofdevelopment for the local animal shelter.
This award recognizes the hard work, dedication and efforts of CVAS in continuing its mission ofsheltering, supporting, adopting out and reuniting with owners nearly 1,300 animals last year.
This award gives us a larger voice in advocating for animals who are lost, stray, abandoned andtoo often abused. We thank our local communities for all of their support in so many ways, especially to the CVBA for this honor,’ noted Willman.
Said CVBA Board Chair Adam Donius during the program’s opening remarks, “We are incredibly proud of our award recipients and their impact on the Cumberland Valley, their leadership and dedication not only strengthen our business community but also enhance the quality of life across our region.”
The ceremony featured the presentation of six prestigious awards, recognizing excellenceacross various sectors. The event honors individuals and organizations that exemplifyleadership, innovation, and a strong commitment to community.

August, 2020 to November, 2024: Lexi Arrives and Four Years Later Goes Home!
November 8 was a BIG day at CVAS!
Lexi, who has been at the shelter for over four YEARS, found her forever home! We will certainly miss our big, sweet girl but wish her and her new family the best!
