One Month Follow Up - Adoptions

CVAS sends a follow up letter after one month for every adoption of our residents. Staff and volunteers get so attached to the animals that enter our shelter, we love to see them finally find a home and be spoiled like they deserve! We know our community gets attached to the residents and love to hear their success stories, so please enjoy the background on some recent adoptions!
Page
We are very happy to be making a section dedicated to miss Page! If you have visited the shelter in the last year, you most likely would have seen Page playing or napping in her kennel. She was adopted out once last year, but brought back within a month due to the family not understanding her needs. We were sad to see her return, but ready to help her find the perfect fit! As we so often say with adoptions, "it was meant to be". Page's parents came in with intentions to look at a couple other kitties, Page not even being on their radar. But due to those cats already being adopted, they took a chance and met with miss Page - and it was love at first sight! They called us a few days later to let us know that she was the perfect addition to their family! Page made herself right at home with them; cuddling sessions, window watching, daily play time - she is exactly what they were looking for. We are so happy to know that Page has finally found the right fit and is being spoiled just like the princess she is!
Michaux
Michaux, now affectionately called "Mino" by his two-year-old human buddy, is thriving in his new home and bringing endless joy to his family! At first quiet and reserved, Mino has completely come out of his shell—running, climbing, and playing like any other cat. He adores his new sibling, Cassie, and the two often cuddle after a good play session (with some sibling-style wrestling in between!).
Despite being a tripod, Mino fearlessly climbs furniture, patrols the windows, and keeps everyone entertained with his curious and mischievous personality. He’s eating well, loves his treats (and sometimes sneaks bites of his human's food!), and recently got a clean bill of health from his vet. His scar has healed beautifully, and his hair has grown back in.
His family says he's truly a love, full of energy and affection—and they’re so grateful for the second chance that brought Mino into their lives. Thank you to everyone who helped make his happy ending possible! (Check out his Second Chance Story here!)
Keller
Keller came in with his 4 siblings and his parents on one of the hottest days in summer. All the puppies were put in a crate, soaked in their own urine and feces, and on the brink of heatstroke in the bed of a truck. This was definitely one of the worst cases we had seen in 2024. Staff worked tirelessly to rehabilitate these pups and get them ready for their foster homes. We were so grateful that, once they were healed and posted, we had such an overwhelming response on them. So many members of our community ready and willing to take on this challenge! Imagine our surprise when Keller - partly blind and deaf from the result of his previous living conditions and heatstroke - was the first pup to find a home! His new fur-ever family is absolutley amazing, and staff can't believe that he's the same pup we nursed back to health! He's a completely different boy and finally being spoiled in a home like he's always deserved, but it seems like he'll never grow into those ears!
