Working at the Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter is truly a labor of love. Our staff is here because they love animals and want to help our four-legged friends. You won't get rich monetarily, but the richness in your life will come from the happy stories from our adopters, from the grateful faces of our animals and from the smile you get when you see a four-legged friend come out of their shell and trust you.
There will be tough days – not everyone is as good to animals as they should be, but if you can realize that we are their transition, we are their second chance, we are the ones who can show them that not all humans are apathetic, then you will likely thrive at CVAS.
One of the toughest parts of the job is the bittersweet aspect of adoption. These amazing souls are not meant to stay with us forever – they are meant to find a loving home. It can be difficult to care for them everyday only so that they can enrich someone else’s life.
