Volunteer Application
How This Helps CVAS
CVAS has a small staff team, so we rely on our volunteers to assist in many ways. Often, events are hosted during the work day when many staff cannot go out, so our volunteers are there to save the day and have fun while doing it!
Goals
Attend and assist with events with the shelter to not only spread our mission but get the animals voices heard!
Responsibilities
  • Able to understand and speak about the shelter, its mission, and the animals
  • Able to communicate clearly with the community
  • Able and willing to assist in set up and take down

Community Connections

Event volunteers play a key role in extending our shelter’s reach beyond our walls. Whether staffing tables, greeting attendees, handing out applications, or helping showcase the animals we bring along, volunteers become ambassadors for our mission. Their enthusiasm, compassion, and ability to connect with people help foster positive community relationships and inspire support for our shelter.
These events are opportunities to share information, answer questions, and build excitement around adoption, programs, and partnerships. Volunteers help create welcoming, meaningful interactions—turning simple interest into long-lasting community involvement. Whether at small local gatherings or large-scale events, their presence helps strengthen the bond between the shelter and the public we serve.

Essential Support

Behind every successful shelter event is a dedicated team of volunteers who help make it all happen. From assisting staff with setup and takedown to organizing tables, managing prize areas, handling informational materials, and helping with any animals attending, volunteers ensure everything runs smoothly from start to finish.
Their support allows staff to focus on crucial responsibilities, engage with attendees, and manage the logistics that come with bringing the shelter into the community. Without volunteer involvement, events would be more limited in scope, reach, and impact.
Any volunteer—no matter their primary role—is welcome to participate in events, making this one of the most flexible and collaborative opportunities available. By giving their time, event volunteers help maximize our outreach, bring visibility to our programs, and ensure that each event truly reflects the heart and mission of our shelter.
