Volunteering at PetSmart allows you to directly support the cats we place off-site to increase their visibility to potential adopters. Just like kennel cleaning at the shelter—only without the bustle of dogs—you’ll help ensure each cat has a clean, comfortable, and welcoming space.
Your tasks may include refreshing food and water, tidying and cleaning kennels, providing light enrichment, and making sure each kitty is happy, healthy, and ready to meet the public. These small acts of care make a big impact on how confident, relaxed, and adoptable our cats feel in a busy retail environment.

Support Adoptions
For volunteers interested in doing more, PetSmart shifts also offer the opportunity to assist our Adoption Counselor. You may help coordinate meet-and-greets, answer basic questions, and introduce potential adopters to the cats. This role is deeply rewarding—you’re directly involved in helping families find their new companion.
By assisting with adoptions and being an approachable, friendly presence in the store, you help strengthen our connection with the community and increase each cat’s chance of going home. Whether you're cleaning kennels or helping guide a family to “the one,” your work at PetSmart plays a meaningful part in every successful adoption story.
