Thrift Store

Volunteer Application
How This Helps CVAS
The thrift store provides extra income for the shelter - all proceeds come directly to the animals. The more help we have in keeping the store running, the more funds we have for the care of our residents!
Goals
Keeping the store clean and presentable
Responsibilities
  • Assist the ladies in organization and keeping the store tidy
  • Be able to speak comfortable with customers

Welcoming Experience

Volunteering at our Thrift Store offers a unique way to support the shelter while connecting with the community. Our volunteers help sort and organize merchandise, stock shelves, tidy displays, and create inviting setups—from beautifully arranged tables to eye-catching clothing displays (sometimes even modeling outfits for our social media!).
Beyond behind-the-scenes work, volunteers often assist customers with purchases and help them find the perfect item, making every visit warm and memorable. The store also hosts one of our adoptable cats, who enjoys greeting shoppers and adding a touch of feline charm to the day. It’s a wonderful environment for anyone who loves animals but may have allergies, or for those who want to support the shelter in a fun, creative space outside of the kennel environment.

Essential Support

Every task completed at the Thrift Store—every shelf stocked, display refreshed, and item sold—directly benefits the animals in our care. All proceeds return to the shelter, providing critical funds that support daily operations, medical care, enrichment, and lifesaving programs. The store is one of our biggest sources of community-generated support, and volunteers are key to making it run smoothly.
By keeping the shop organized, welcoming, and customer-friendly, volunteers help increase sales and strengthen community engagement. Their work ensures the store can continue generating the much-needed income that allows us to care for more animals, improve their quality of life, and expand our reach.
Thrift Store volunteers make a tangible difference—one sale, one display, one customer interaction at a time—all while helping create a space that reflects the heart and mission of our shelter.
